The Search Engine for the UK Building Trade

In November 2005 Buildingtrade.org.uk launched the beta service of Building Search.

Building Search is a new search engine that just serves the UK building trade. That means that all the results you get back will be directly relevant to you.

Ever had the experience of searching for something, only to get 414 000 results. If you're lucky result number ten thousand three hundred and eighty will be the one you're looking for. Well those days could be at an end.

As a search engine it works in the same way to conventional web search engines - like Yahoo and Google. Unlike these search engines, it only searches domains that we know are going to be of interest to those involved in the UK construction industry.

At the time of launch we have about two thousand websites listed, and are adding more virtually every day. By our estimates that is around one million web pages and counting.

Currently the service is still beta quality. That means we're working on improving it. It's taking an average of three seconds to deliver results, but sometimes takes longer. We know we can get it consistently down below one second for every query.
